yes, they use their own. But only Essential items.
You bring very little. What is not issued you will buy at the PX.
"The other services have lists of what you should or should not bring with you. The Marines make it simple: Don’t bring anything except your important papers (such as driver’s license, social security card, and banking information), except the clothes on your back. Everything you need will be issued to you. For non-issue items, it will be issued, and the cost taken out of your pay. "
when i joined, i didnt bring anything.
actually the less the better. they will give you everything you "need".
i use that term lightly because it really is the bare essentials.. i.e. toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, etc lol.
all i had was the cloths i was wearing, and my wallet. lol.
Yeah they’ll provide you with basic M1 tampons and a standard military issue manicure kit.
